Blue Side

B.1 Background: The Soviets have taken Keflavik, but not without heavy
losses. We now know that the Russians want to turn Keflavik into a bombing
station and are ferrying Backfires to Keflavik. If successful, they will be
able to harass all NATO shipping to and from Europe from this station. NATO's
only hope is to intercept enemy bombers before they reach Keflavik.

B.2 Blue Orders: You are to take command of a NATO carrier group located
south of Iceland. You are to intercept and destroy all Backfire bombers
heading toward Keflavik.

B.3 Intelligence Brief: Intelligence indicates that there are between 80 and
100 Backfire bombers located between two bases in Norway. Expect heavy fighter
escort. Satellite photos also show a high concentration of fighters at
Keflavik.

B.4 Minimum Victory Conditions: Destroy 60 Backfire bombers.

Red Side

R.1 Background: We have finally driven NATO out of Keflavik. However,
because we have suffered heavy losses, we are converting Keflavik into a
bomber base. We are ferrying over 100 Backfires to Keflavik. If successful,
we will easily be able to harass all future NATO shipping to and from Europe.
If not successful, NATO will easily reacquire Keflavik and be able to
reinforce troops in Europe.

R.2 Red Orders: You are to safely ferry your Backfire bombers to Keflavik.
You are to use your heavy fighter escorts to your advantage by taking any air
threats out of the picture. The welfare of the Motherland rests upon your
shoulders!

R.3 Intelligence Brief: It is believed that a NATO carrier group is in the
area. Estimates are that there are between 30 and 60 fighter aircraft aboard
this carrier.

R.4 Minimum Victory Conditions: Get at least 60 Backfire bombers to Keflavik
and protect them there for 5 hours.
